Other Technical Data This needle valve has a 3° pin angle, the ports are orientated at 90°. Media compatibility includes compressed air, gas, oil and water. Flow Control & Needle Valves are used to set the rate of flow in a pneumatic circuit. Although the basic function is flow restriction, the fundamental difference between the two is the Needle Valve controls flow in both directions (Bi-directional) and the Flow Control Valve controls flow in only one direction (Unidirectional) allowing free flow in the opposite direction. A finely threaded stem (needle) allows gradual adjustment of the amount of controlled flow passing through. Flow enters the input, travels through an orifice determined by the tapered stem (needle) and out through the output. The Flow Control (Unidirectional) features a by-pass check which allows free flow from the output port back through the input port. Eoxshop offers a variety of configurations in both Unidirectional and Bi-directional styles, this includes various mounting and porting options as well as construction materials. Flow control and Needle valves are not guaranteed to be leak tight and therefore should not be considered to be or used as a shut off valve.
