...

What our teams have to say about us ...

Jack_Cooper

Jack Cooper - Has undertaken a four-year apprenticeship with The West Group

"I had always wanted to go into Engineering and thought that an apprenticeship would suit me best. Apprenticeships are a great way to learn whilst working in industry as you gain a better understanding of how things are run within the actual environment. I saw an apprenticeship opening come up with TWG and was fortunate enough to be successful after applying.

I have now joined the Design Test and Validation team, and previously I was lucky enough to gain experience in Production and Manufacturing, all of which has given me a wider understanding of the company as a whole and a great opportunity to further my knowledge. I am excited to be working in the DTV department as my apprenticeship progresses over the next four years."

Jaz_Gibbs

Jasmine Gibbs - Developing a successful career at The West Group

"Before The West Group, my career was focused on hospitality and customer service. Wanting to go in a different direction (but not sure what direction that was yet) I was excited to be welcomed into the company in an Internal Sales position.

I spent a couple of years in sales including trying my hand at export sales before moving onto new challenges. I have used my time here to learn, develop and continue to find my passion, with positions in quality and manufacturing providing me with valuable experience that I would struggle to find elsewhere.

Six years on and I finally found my calling – HR! I am well on my way to completing my level 3 CIPD apprenticeship and enjoying every step of my learning process within my role. The West Group has given me the fantastic opportunity to discover my career focus and I am enjoying every new challenge."

Kyle_Dyke

Kyle - Always Ready for a New Challenge

"Prior to working at The West Group, I gained a Mechanical Engineering degree and had a few years’ experience in technical sales and machine shop planning.

Looking for a new challenge, I joined TWG in Production testing. I enjoyed my experience but felt ready to learn more. I applied, and was accepted for, an open position in the Quality Department where I found myself being inclined to testing and fault finding. Fortunately, a new Design, Test and Validation department was created, and again I applied and was successful in gaining the role of Test and Validation Engineer.

This position has provided me with a fantastic opportunity to learn and help develop the department, bringing mechatronics and test automation to The West Group.

It has been amazing developing and progressing my career at TWG, and I am grateful for being given opportunities whenever I needed a new challenge."
